On a fine sunny Saturday 7th April 2007 the MJCQ in collaboration with the Studebaker Car Club of Queensland held a very successful event on the Gold Coast, Queensland Australia. The world record attempt of bringing the most number of Studebaker US6 6x6 trucks together in modern times was successful, with 17 vehicles attending. Although there has been a larger gathering of US6's in the past (also in Australia), this attempt was officially verified by Guinness World Records. One of the trucks' fan belt shredded and a replacement was found to be too small. An ingenious solution was to make a temporary belt from a piece of jute rope spliced together... MJCQ members are a resourceful lot! A newly-imported M29C Water Weasel also managed to make it.
